**Software engineer recruitment. Full time position for 18 months, Paris area.** *** **Context** CEA LIST is a technological research institute specializing in the design and development of complex or software-intensive systems (https://www-list.cea.fr). Within the LIST Institute, the Vision and Content Engineering Laboratory (LVIC) employs around 50 researchers and engineers working on the analysis and interpretation of multimedia data (text, image and video analysis). In the field of Artificial Intelligence, the laboratory develops robust algorithms for extracting, analyzing and processing large volumes of multimedia data. Our technologies have contributed to the emergence of new economic activities through the creation of startups such as ANT'Inno. In addition, the laboratory participates in numerous collaborative projects (ANR, Europe FP7, Competitiveness Clusters) with academic partners, SMEs or major companies. As part of its mission of transfer and valorization of its technologies, the laboratory seeks a collaborator to industrialize and integrate software modules in the field of deep learning for natural language processing and more particularly the extraction of named entities and relations. The applications targeted by these technologies are e.g. information extraction and watch. **Missions** The laboratory's industrial partners wish to improve their competitiveness and open up new markets and services in watching, analyzing and understanding the multimedia documents they encounter. The challenge of these projects lies in the ability to automate complex, multilingual collections, analyzes, discoveries and semantic searches on heterogeneous documents. The partners will then gain in speed and reliability in their process of monitoring internal and external information. The ultimate goal is a significant increase in analyst productivity, which will lead to reduced costs and HR deployment to higher value-added activities. Several research projects are entering a phase of maturation and accompanying the integration of these tools based on neural networks into larger information systems. In this context, the work of the engineer will consist in: - industrializing the source code of language processing software modules using deep learning frameworks, mainly TensorFlow; - supporting the integration of these technological modules into important software systems; - improving the functioning and the quality of the software developed, in interaction with the users. **Skills** Computer engineer with a machine learning background. The candidate will be proficient in C++ development under GNU/Linux and Microsoft Windows. Knowledge of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, Caffé2, etc. would be a plus. Required skills also include python proficiency. Notions of continuous integration will be useful. A good knowledge of natural language processing (NLP) is highly desirable. Professional qualities: open-mindedness and curiosity, ability to work in a team, strong motivation for research and innovation. **Salary and duration of contract** Salary according to training and experience. The total duration of the contract is 18 months. *Job location:* CEA Saclay Nano-Innov, Palaiseau, Paris area, France.
