Deezer is looking for a NLP specialist with solid academical
background. You will join the R&D team which is responsible for long
term projects that aims at improving catalog qualification and related
applications (search, recommendation, augmented players, etc.)

You will be in charge of developing and evaluating NLP algorithms to
extract high level information from texts about music, such as album
reviews, artist biography, wikipedia articles, social network posts or
tweets, music blog posts, user feedbacks or songs lyrics.

The retrieved information will be of various types, ranging from album
release dates, artist popularity and musical genres to song moods and
customer profiles. This kind of information is very useful for music
recommendation and for helping in navigating the catalog.

You will also be in charge of developing natural language
understanding systems for interacting with a music streaming platform
via natural language requests.

What you will do: 

-Propose, develop and evaluate NLP algorithms in order to retrieve
 information about music and build large knowledge graphs about
 entities from deezer catalog (tracks, albums, artists).

-Named entity recognition and disambiguation (What track/album/artist
 is a blogpost about?)

-Assessing relations between entities (what is the relation between
 two artists mentioned in an album review? collaboration, source of
 inspiration, related genre, etc.)

-Sentiment analysis (is a tweet positive about an album?).

-Design natural language understanding systems for interactive music
 players.

-Design solution that can be applied to large scale text data.

-Identify product features that can be improved using NLP.

-Collaborate with other researchers and share ideas and projects.

-Scientific watch.

-Scientific communication (papers publication, blogpost).

What we are looking for: 

-PhD (or similar research experience) in NLP or in related field.

-Publications in the field of NLP.

-Deep understanding of modern methods and current trends in NLP -
 tasks, e.g. sentiment analysis, name entity recognition and
 disambiguation.

-Experience with large corpora and scalable algorithms.

-Fluent in Python and python NLP libraries (such as NLTK).

-Ability to produce clean and reusable code.

-Fluency in English. Knowledge in other languages, French would be a
 big plus

-Good Unix/Linux knowledge is a plus.
