*What you will do*

Two central components of our solutions are Automatic Speech Recognition
(ASR) and Natural Language Understanding (NLU). In the past years, we
have designed state-of-the-art ASR and NLU solutions for French,
English, German and Japanese.

We are now looking for an awesome linguist to help us extend our
solution to Spanish (Castilian from Spain, to start with).
We are offering a 3-month position within our Linguistics Team:
temporary contract, internship or freelance.

It will involve:

- translating example sentences from English into Spanish
- informing our teams about Spanish, in terms of phonology, grammar,
  morphology, etc
- helping our linguistics team build and test formal grammars for
  Spanish
- helping our teams build a phonological model of Spanish, and check the
  pronunciations
- preparing guidance for crowdsourcing workers, and checking their work
- creating voice apps for Spanish (weather app, smart home app, etc),
  and working on demos for our prospects
- evaluating our technology for Spanish

You will work with our Computational Linguists, and later with our
Product team. You might also collaborate occasionally with our Machine
Learning and Engineering teams.

*What we are looking for*

- Bachelor's or master's degree in Linguistics or Natural Language
  Processing
- Perfect proficiency in Spanish from Spain (native speaker or
  equivalent level)
- Good command of English
- Good knowledge in General Linguistics, applied to Castilian Spanish
  (Phonetics, Phonology, - Semantics, Syntax and Morphology)
- Ability to grasp technical concepts, and to understand simple formal
  representations (that we will explain to you)
- Ability to work in close collaboration with different teams, to adapt
  to their needs, and to convey information about Spanish effectively
- Knowledge in Natural Language Processing is a plus (formal grammars,
  regular expressions, etc)
- Knowledge in command line is a plus (unix-style terminal)
