*What you will do*
Snips is looking for a Computational linguist/Language Engineer to join
our team in Paris. Our language team is responsible for the language
dependant logic of our products.

You will be involved in the enrichment of our NLP pipeline, for
Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Natural Language Understanding
(NLU):

- Collection, organization and maintenance of corpora and lexicons for
  the different languages we cover (French, English, German, Japanese,
  and new languages coming soon), with the help of native speakers

- Writing of grammars for entities recognition: numbers, dates, amounts
  of money, etc (improvement of the existing grammars, creation of
  grammars for new languages)

- Testing and evaluation of our NLP pipeline (for each component and
  end-to-end)
  
- Building and testing apps for specific purposes (weather, smart home,
  etc)
  
- Creation of the phoneset for new languages, with our ASR team and with
  native speakers

You will work with two senior Computational Linguists, in close
collaboration with our Product, Engineering and Machine Learning teams.

English is the official language of the company, as we have over 12
different nationalities, so don't worry if you don't speak French!

*What we are looking for*
- Degree in Computational Linguistics
- Experience in an industrial setting (at least one internship)
- Programming skills (at least one scripting language, Python would be
  great)
- Comfortable with the use of the Shell and of Linux commands
  (experience in the use of IDEs and software versioning appreciated)
- Knowledge of General Linguistics (Phonetics, Phonology, Semantics,
  Syntax and Morphology)
- Knowledge of Information Extraction (grammars, regular expressions)
- Knowledge of ASR and NLU technologies
- Proficient in English, and in at least one other language (Spanish,
  Italian, Portuguese, Korean, Mandarin or Arabic appreciated, but
  please let us know all the languages you can speak!)
