No Offer Description The Lattice lab of the Ecole normale supérieure, in the Paris area, is looking for a senior research engineer (post-doctoral contract) in computational social sciences, for 18 months, beginning on April 2024 or soon thereafter. The main task will be to develop new methods in the domain of computational social sciences. This offer is part of the Medialex project, aiming at tracking influence strategies between the political sphere (esp. the Parliament) and the media sphere (esp. social media, but not only). The project focuses mainly on French use cases, but experiments outside the project corpora is also possible. Interesting topics are (among many others): - tracking events in a flow of textual data (esp. social media) - investigating influence strategies between the political sphere and the medias (esp. social medias) - investigating how media coverage is influenced by other factors (political orientation, framing, etc.). We are looking for candidates with a first experience in the domain, who have demonstrated an ability to develop original research mixing advanced NLP techniques and social sciences. A track record of publications in the domain is necessary. French does not need to be your mother tongue, but some command of the language is necessary to be able to work on French data.
