===================================================== Research Associate (Post-Doc) Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning Starting date: As soon as possible Employer and Location: LINA UMR CNRS - University of Nantes, France Duration: 15 months Deadline for Application: Open until filled ===================================================== The LINA NLP Research Group [1] has an open position for a post-doc researcher starting as soon as possible. The position is supported by the Unique Inter-ministerial Fund (FUI) and available in the ODISAE project [2]. The project aims at developing a semantic analyser of written online conversations across several modalities (i.e. chat, forum, email). The domain is the assistance in problem solving (technical support or customer relationship management). Depending on his/her profile, the candidate will lead his/her research in one of the following directions: 1. modelling and tracking interactions (~discourse parsing) in the context of multimodal, multiparticipants written conversations. 2. extraction and semantic alignment of multimodal content in comparable corpus. The candidate will be in charge of studing the data, proposing and evaluating approaches for tackling the various issues. In addition, he/she will have the opportunity to fully participate to related research tasks, like, for example, to collaborate for organizing events to promote the collected data. Prerequisite is a PhD degree in computational linguistics, computer sciences, or a related field. Candidates are expected to have knowledge in natural language processing and machine learning as well as solid programming skills. Knowledge of English is mandatory and prior experience in information retrieval or knowledge in discourse/dialogue analysis, text alignment, or written online conversation analysis are a plus. Knowledge of French is required or a strong desire to learn it. Desire for collaborative work is also welcome. The monthly gross salary will be 2,250 EUR (about 1,850 net income after tax). Senior post-doc researcher are encouraged to apply (salary can be revised at the cost of the duration). About the LINA NLP team: It is made of 10 permanent senior researchers (3 Professors) + about 10 PhD students. The main research topics are text mining and multimodal alignment.
