IFF offers a 6-month internship based in the Paris region
(Neuilly-sur-Seine) in France. The intern will work at the crossroads
of natural language processing techniques and human sciences for
fragrance creation.


Job Summary

We propose an internship position in the Human & Consumer Insights
department based in Neuilly-sur-Seine (France) to work on linguistic
data processing in the crossroads between the universe of fragrances
and human sciences. Concretely, the intern will mainly work on the
development of a methodology to process linguistic data extracted from
verbal association tasks and visualize the results. The intern may also
participate in other projects where GenAI and language models can play
an innovative role in consumer research for the perfume industry.

Desired skills:

-   Basic Python programming and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and
    NLTK
-   Basic natural language processing skills such as regular
    expressions
-   Basic knowledge related to language models, such as embeddings,
    generative language models, and prompt engineering techniques, and
    strong willingness to dive deeper into these topics from both
    theoretical and applied perspectives
-   Basic knowledge in certain math concepts, such as probability
    distributions and Markov chains, or strong willingness to learn
    fast
-   An interest in applied human sciences
-   Excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and
    presentation skills
-   Be a creative force 
-   Self-sufficient
