Dr Fran COLMAN was Reader in English until 2003 in the Department of English Language of the University of Edinburgh. She is a well-known specialist in the history of English and the author of a large number of articles and book chapters on the subject.

These two lectures will follow courses run by Professor John Anderson on case grammar and its history (same room 14:00-16:00). See “Perpaus” on the Manifestation of the ERSS.
On Thursday 17 June, 10.50-11.45 Dr Fran Colman will also deliver a paper on the theme: “ What’s this “Linguistic Philological Divide”? Meditations on an early English hobbyhorse” during the Journées de Linguistique Anglaise organized by ERSS.

These lectures are placed under the aegis of the ERSS, the Département des Études du Monde Anglophone and the Écoles doctorales CLESCO and LLC (Université Toulouse-Le Mirail).
