From Biberian text types to genres of web pages: An overview of studies on automatic genre identification In this talk I will give an overview of the most influential studies on automatic identification of text types or genres, pointing out the major theoretical and methodological differences. I will also mention some shortcomings of the automatic approaches and say a few things about what is desirable for future work. |
